As a wedding photographer, I’ve been fortunate to visit many stunning venues. However, Wedderburn Castle and Barns in the heart of the Scottish Borders really stands out. Joanne and Scott chose this breathtakingly beautiful venue for their sunny and warm September wedding. Their beloved dog Max served as the wedding ring bearer. The castle dates back to the 18th century and retains its original features while also offering modern amenities for weddings and events. Joanne and Scott’s ceremony took place in the rustic barns, which provided a fine backdrop for their humanistic ceremony conducted by Gina Williams. Gina wrote a very personal ceremony with a hint of humour that perfectly captured the couple’s love for each other. their beloved dog Max stole the show when he delivered the wedding rings, tied to his collar, and the moment left everyone with beaming smiles. After the ceremony, all the guests followed the talented piper Robin Turnbull and walked to the castle for the wedding reception. While everyone was enjoying canapés and drinks, we took a stroll around the grounds of Wedderburn Castle to capture some couple portraits.
The evening celebrations kicked off with Joanne singing Fleetwood Mac’s song “Everywhere” for Scott, a great surprise for everyone and a moment that highlighted their shared love of music. Carlyle provided perfect entertainment and the dance floor was packed all night long.
