There is a lot that can be said about the Scottish Hebrides. In my opinion you will not find a more iconic and beautiful location anywhere in the world. For anyone looking to tie the knot in style you will not do better than an intimate elopement on the Isle of Skye.
Timeless
This particular day was timeless. We remember it as little more than a hazy, dreamy series of events. The outpouring of love for this wonderful couple from their close family was overwhelming. The experience of the day is best described with four simple words: laughter, love, smiles & affection. It really did feel like a dream, the day Martyna and David got married.
Preparations
The day started when they invited us to join them, and a small group of their family, for breakfast and preparations. Their croft was situated in the remote northern headlands of the island. Even before 10am the late June sun was hitting record highs. The day was set to be a scorcher. Agent Copper, Martyna & David’s trusty border terrier was doing everything he could to hide in the shade and stay cool. As any Hebridean will tell you, this type of weather is practically unheard of for Skye. This was contrasted by the cool and easy going atmosphere of the household.
Secluded Ceremony
Once preparations were complete we set off across Skye. The adventuring couple led us on a tour of the single track roads of the island that they hold with such affection. Our destination was a more southerly and very secluded bay. Despite it being peak tourist season, with a blazing sun, we found ourselves completely tucked away in a beautiful, mostly undisturbed coastal location. Here a very intimate and emotional ceremony took place under the watchful gaze of their dearest kin, Agent Coops and a handful of inquisitive sheep.
This was followed up by our couple shoot with them in some of the most stunning spots that Scotland has to offer.
